Following CCSU Dining Service’s trayless lunch, the panel will take place in CCSU Art Galleries, Maloney Hall, 2nd floor, where the art exhibition SUSTAINABLE? is on view March 19- April 23.

‘SPEAK UP FOR AGRICULTURE!’

March 18th, 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Invitation to all friends of agriculture, including farmers, growers, gardeners, farmers’ market managers, chefs, agriculture land trusts, CSA members, students, agriculture experts, and consumers. The event is an opportunity to remind state leaders that we cannot afford to cut funding for farmland protection, ignore the financial plight of dairy farmers, eliminate farm business grants, or repeal tax exemptions on seeds and farm equipment.

Join us in Hartford to “Speak Up for Agriculture!” - or Watch it Disappear!

Help remind state leaders that NO FARMS = NO FOOD

You are also invited to join one of the small grassroots teams from your county to meet legislators during pre-scheduled face-to-face appointments between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Join one of the grassroots teams and participate in face-to-face meetings with legislators! Throughout the morning you can visit with dozens of agriculture organizations that will have displays in the Hall of Flags for the annual ‘Ag Day at the Capitol’.

Parking at the Capitol - 1) Come early in order to use the Legislative Office Building Parking Lot - Parking is available on the first floor of the Legislative Office Garage. If the first floor is full, check to see if there is a police officer directing cars to the roof parking in the lower basement level of the garage around the back of the building. 2) There is a paid public parking garage in the Connecticut Education Association (CEA) Building on Oak Street. Go south (NOT the driveway which goes west onto Broad Street) out of the Legislative Office Building driveway, turn left onto Capitol Avenue, then take the first right onto Oak Street. The first building on the right across from the side of the State Library, is the CEA Building. Pull into the garage driveway on the far side of the building. 3) There is often meter parking available on that first block of Oak Street, or go to the end of the block and take a left on Russ Street for more meter parking.
