SCAPE!

Garlic scapes are in. By far one of our favorite items on the farm but (sadly!) one of the most neglected! 

Garlic scapes are the flower shoots off of the spring garlic plant. They are tender and served like a green vegetable but have that garlic bite we all love. They are swirly and curvy but can be cut up into green-bean sized pieces and steamed, grilled or sauteed in some olive oil.Also great in PESTO.  They are the best! We love to snack on them raw as we are picking – a garlic lover’s snack!

They’ll be on the farmstand this Friday, pick some up!
